Who needs a draft?/War can be fun!!
An image I snapped at a small-town carnival this weekend. Shit like this really bothers me, though most people I know think I’m nuts for saying so. By the time the average American is mature enough to start thinking for themselves, they’ve been exposed to mountains of this stuff. Desensitization, indoctrination, at every turn, so hard to overcome. Carnival rides, cereal prizes, happy meal toys, etc…..essentially it all adds up to an “America-fuck-yeah” contact high, and some people just never seem to be able to shake themselves out of the haze. Too easy to shrug our shoulders at each individual incidence and ignore the forest for the trees.
On a lighter note, I got a really good laugh out of the fact that the sign has saguaro cacti. I didn’t even notice that when I was taking the pic!

Iowa is not just about corn and soybeans anymore. The medicinal and hallucinogenic benefits of the saguaro cacti have been ignored for too long! In the same way Dustin Hoffman was offered the word plastics in The Graduate, I’ll offer one word that could change your financial future - Cacti.

On the bright side, there was only one kid on the ride.
And don’t tell me the fair had just opened. It *is* Sunday I can prefer a bubble of placating illusion too, sometimes, right?

Hehe. Yeah, this was the opening hour of the event. Sorry to spoil it for you, but maybe you won’t read this til Monday.
Honestly, I did hang out for awhile, hoping to get a pic with more kids on it, but the carnie was giving me dirty looks, so I moved on.

Thanks.
Maybe Shock and Awe would attract more kiddies.
I know the media fell in love with that ride, for a while.
